How do I know if my tank is expired?
Due to Federal regulations, tanks older than 12 years cannot be filled. They must have a stamp later than 2012 (for 2024) to be fillable. However, any tank of any age showing visible rust or damage may be refused.

Recertified Tanks
If the tank has been recertified, it should have a sticker. If it has the letter “E” after the date, add 5 years to the expiration date listed on the tank.
Below is an example to show a tank good until July of 2016. However, if a tank has visible rust or damage, it may be refused.
