A Historical Tribute To SAMPSON

Sampson Lumber Co. Inc. was established in 1978 by founder Donald V. Sampson of Duxbury, Massachusetts. Donald was a builder himself and had a lifelong love for the trade. Since its inception, Donald grew the business and added onto the building four times to its current location in Pembroke, MA. In 1998, Donald passed away leaving the business and property to his daughter Carol Keane and his son Donald L. Sampson.

Carol and her husband Bob ran the business for about 4 years, then in 2003, Donald L. Sampson bought the business from his sister and her husband. Donald L. Sampson was also a builder by trade and participated in the building of the lumberyard back in 1978. He also worked in the yard and hand milled custom trim work. Sampson Lumber Co. Inc. continues to be an owned and operated as a family business, now in its third generation.

Store Manager - Mike Bertochi

Koopman Lumber is particularly proud of Mike DiVirgilio as the Manager of our Whitinsville location because Mike first started working at Koopman as a teenager. Many in our communities have experienced KLC as their first job and many of those folks remain working for KLC today.

Mike went off to college and owned his own business for a time out of state, and then returned and managed a Koopman paint store, assisted in the startup of our Sharon location, managed a great team in Hudson before arriving back in Whitinsville where he started. From building materials, windows/doors, to paint and hardware, Mike is a great resource for any project you might have and he joins a rock solid team of experienced folks in Whitinsville who know how to serve customers.
